Like Kentucky, I spent little time here and only visited the southwest corner of the state so I have limited ability to comment other than to say the weather is harsh.  My arrival was greeted with a small tornado that struck while I stopped for gas shortly after arriving in the state in a small town, Bowman I think. The sky was dark and cloudy but it still came as a surprise to even the locals as there was no wind moments earlier when I walked in to pay for my gas.  I drove on once the winds abated a bit and ended up spending the night in Dickinson at a non-descript La Quinta Inn which was clean, quiet and across the street from Los Cabos Family Mexican Restaurant, inexpensive with good food and great service.  The next day was the scenic drive through Theodore Roosevelt National Park South Unit, part of the North Dakota badlands.  The area is quite pretty and filled with bison, wild horses and rolling hills.  Not necessarily a destination but worth the trip if in the area.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
